Mandala Metaverse, an upcoming augmented reality (AR) game has announced that it will be launching its first major NFT drop on April 28th.
The drop will be hosted on Astar Network, a parachain of the Polkadot network.
Mandala Metaverse is a multi-faceted project that encompasses a range of media, including television, graphic novels, gaming, and augmented reality. Its gaming elements were developed using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, which is of Triple-A quality.
The drop is titled “Cryptonauts” and the NFTs depict various personas that will serve as playable characters in the game. Renowned comic artist Bruce Zick, known for his work with industry titans like Disney and Marvel, was responsible for illustrating the artwork.
Polkadot is not exactly a blockchain that is known for hosting gaming and NFT projects. In fact, the network has no recorded sales data on aggregators like Crypto Slam.
Mandala Metaverse CEO Jon Shanker, noted:
“Polkadot has real future-proof NFT applications, such as nesting, staking and the ability to send NFTs over bridges – plus many other innovative ways to use NFT assets. We can now do things we didn’t think were possible.”
