Trump announces his 2nd NFT collection on Instagram

On Tuesday, the former president Trump posted images to his Instagram account for the first time since January 5, 2021, the day before the disruption at the U.S. Capitol.

Trump added, “I am pleased to inform you that, due to the great success of my previously launched DIGITAL TRADING CARDS, we are doing it again, SERIES 2, AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW,” under a photo of himself holding what looks to be the Liberty Bell. Then he posted a second image of himself dressed as a superhero.

On January 6, 2021, on The Ellipse in front of the White House, a graphic urging people to “join President Donald J. Trump at the Save America March” was posted by Trump.

Trump added that he hopes “everyone notices” that he is “leaving the price of the Trading Cards the same as last time, even though they are selling for MANY TIMES MORE.” on the second digital trading card image.

The developer reserved 1,000 NFTs out of the 47,000 NFTs that were created for the second series of Trump Digital Trading Cards on the Polygon Ethereum sidechain network. Each card costs $99 and, like the initial issue in December 2022, some of them come with Trump’s digital signature.

However, buyers of 47 NFT trading cards will reportedly receive a ticket to a gala dinner with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago golf club in Florida. This time around, Trump’s staff is reportedly not providing as many ancillary benefits. Buyers of the Series 1 launch also received potential benefits including in-person meetings and Zoom talks with President Trump.

The Series 2 set builds on the theme of the first set, which showed Trump in exaggerated roles such as those of a superhero, astronaut, cowboy, and more. This time, the NFT artwork shows Trump wearing a firefighter’s uniform, carrying a belt from a professional wrestling match, and going hunting.
