Those personally involved claim that Amazon is wrapping up its internal NFT program. According to one report, Amazon may sell digital artifacts made by crypto-native businesses like Beeple and Pudgy Penguins.

Amazon will operate its NFT marketplace on a private, permissioned blockchain, according to a confidential terms of service agreement that Blockworks has examined. According to these documents, the blockchain for Amazon’s digital collectibles is read-only, gas-free, and restricted to NFT developers, partners, and Amazon customers after launch. In order to safeguard its authenticity, Blockworks opted not to quote either paper.

As said in reports, Amazon has inked several covert launch agreements. One deck and a different source claimed that Amazon has informed product partners that Beeple and Pudgy Penguins will be joined on day one by Artifact Labs and Proof Collective.

The makers of Beeple and Pudgy Penguins did not reply to comments. Requests for comment from Artifact Labs and Proof Collective did not immediately elicit a response.

Web3 partners are required by Amazon to sign non-disclosure agreements.

Amazon using Twitch

The Amazon project will be promoted on Twitch, the streaming service of Amazon.com. To sell NFTs associated with their games, Amazon has teamed with a number of cryptocurrency game companies.

When contacted for comment, Twitch did not provide one.

Based on several reports, while the Fabricant has its own community, Amazon will provide partners with premium Discord memberships. NFTs connected to particular Discord communities can be sold by brands. A spokeswoman for Fabricant declined to comment.

Various reports claim that the marketplace will provide members with access to a special club, behind-the-scenes meet and greets with musicians and celebrities, and exclusive drops of music, ebooks, movies, and TV episodes. Physical products will also be distributed after Amazon customers purchase NFTs.

Users can purchase NFTs just like any other product on Amazon using accepted credit and debit cards, as well as other payment methods including one-click checkout.

According to three different sources, Amazon stressed that their platform would lead to Web3 acceptance for its 300 million active users, confirming the idea that the platform was made for Amazon’s 300 million foreign customers.

In three sources with firsthand knowledge showed that Amazon’s NFT platform was originally scheduled to debut in the fourth quarter of 2022 but has since been repeatedly delayed.

The fact that Amazon NFT buyers won’t be able to exchange their digital goods outside of Amazon’s blockchain at launch has been communicated to at least two partners. On whether such a feature, which would increase NFT market liquidity on various blockchains, is planned, sources diverged.
