Dr. Disrespect revealed gameplay footage for his next shooter, It did not go smoothly

Dr. Disrespect, a popular video game broadcaster, showed early footage of the first game from his new company, Deaddrop, on Sunday. People are already picking it apart on social media.

The statement comes months after Dr. Disrespect announced the launch of Midnight Society, the gaming company he started with Robert Bowling, Quinn DelHoyo, and Sumit Gupta, all of whom had worked on Call of Duty and Halo before. Disrespect started the company a year after he was permanently banned from Twitch for unknown reasons. He now wants to make games that are as good as the best FPS series.

The game is called “the world’s first vertical extraction shooter” by Disrespect and Midnight Studios, and fans who bought $50 Founders Access Passes have been given early access. Clearer than the description of a “vertical extraction shooter,” this is early footage, as shown by the choppy framerate, bad gun mechanics, lack of animations, sound design, and other things in the video below.

But Disrespect’s comments about the game in June made the news of the cancellation much worse. In a tweet that has since been deleted, he said that Deaddrop “blows everything from the CoD engine away.” So, his supporters laughed at him when he made his bold statement. Some have said it’s like a mobile game, while others have said it’s like a shooter at Chuck E. Cheese.

PC Gamer says that Midnight Studios also uses Deadrop to sell NFTs. Players who bought the Founder Pass can try out snapshots of the game every six weeks. “Procedurally created NFTs of a character who acts as [the player’s] in-game avatar” go with these screen shots.

Again, this game is still in its early stages of development. It is unusual to show gameplay this early in the process, for the same reasons that were mentioned above. Deaddrop doesn’t have a release date yet, so Dr. Disrespect could surprise us and make the game better than we thought it would be. Maybe.
