The APENFT Foundation Announces the Second Open Call For Submissions To Its $100 Million Art Dream Fund

The APENFT Foundation has said that the second name of its $100 million Art Dream Fund will be announced on August 1. Registration will end on October 30. This year’s name is based on the idea of a “Post-Human Era.” This subject tries to figure out if humanity’s future will go beyond traditional self-centered humanism and how people can fit into a fantastic ecosystem with non-human animals, plants, and cyborgs. Almost certainly, winners will be able to choose from a pool of prizes worth more than $100,000. APENFT and TRON plan to launch The Sandbox, a metaverse where artists will be able to build their own studios and compete for prizes. Creators may also be able to take part in APENFT’s yearly online and offline exhibits, workshops, artist residencies, and other educational events.

This name can be used by authors of any age, nationality (except those who live in states or territories that are on the UN and OFAC lists), and profession. It accepts digital artworks in many different forms, such as video, animation, digital reality, augmented reality, sound art, and data-driven art, from both individuals and organizations.

“The most essential quality that distinguishes us from other calls is our core values—great inclusiveness and openness—which are also the values that govern the world of NFTs; here, every good work has a chance to be seen,” emphasised Sydney Xiong, Director of the APENFT Foundation. “We’ve always been committed to nurturing and supporting young artists and creators who are open-minded, daring, imaginative, and able to inject fresh vitality into the art sphere.”

The way the Art Dream Fund evaluates projects is also open and includes everyone. This year’s panel of judges is made up of more than 10 artists, curators, auctioneers, art experts, and people who work in finance. We might guess that having people from different fields, like art, finance, technology, and design, on the panel will allow for a more thorough review of the proposals. Philip Tinari (Director of UCCA Center for Contemporary Art), Jonathan Crockett (Chairman of Asia at Phillips), Josh Baer (Art Advisor), Sylvain Levy (Famous Collector), and Conlan Rios (Founder of Async Art) are some of the expert jurors. Cheng Ran (Contemporary Artist), Laura Shao from Hive Center for Contemporary Art, Kenny Schachter (Artwork Author), Ciara Sun (Artwork Curator) (Lecturer on the University of the Arts London). Based on the votes of the public and the Nomination and Selection Panel, 50 finalists will be chosen for the finals.

Last year’s open name brought in almost 500 works of art. Infinite Falling by WMD Studio won the major prize, and Verdi Jackson, Kong, Allyn Belfred, and Chengcheng Shi won innovation prizes for their works. In January 2022, APENFT and StayArtX held an online exhibition in Cryptovoxels that included a public auction of all the winning works of art. This year, APENFT and Async Art worked together to make the “Async Visual-Audio Award” for programmable art. This award is meant to encourage experimentation and creativity in interactive art. As Async Art’s founder Conlan Rios put it,

“Async Art offers instruments for everybody to create visual-audio interactive NFTs, with out the need of mastering coding and programming data. Through Async Visual-Audio Award, we invite artists to affix us to show the prevailing idea of artwork on its head and pave the way in which for a complete new class of programmable media. This is simply the beginning, however we imagine these easy constructing blocks will open up a world of potentialities for the creators on the market, and we’re actually excited to see the genius methods folks would possibly use it.”

Participants might be able to go to workshops put on by APENFT and Async Art, and they might also be able to get NFT airdrops based on Blueprints.
