Gucci Has Announced They Will Accept Apecoin Payments

The BitPay Wallet app can now be used to buy ApeCoin (APE) and Euro Coin (EUROC), store them, swap them, and spend them. Businesses that already accept BitPay can now accept ApeCoin and Euro Coin from any cryptocurrency wallet.

Gucci, one of the best luxury fashion brands in the world, will be the first business to accept ApeCoin (APE) through BitPay. This will increase the number of approved cryptocurrencies that Gucci accepts as payment in its US stores.

All of Gucci’s directly controlled locations in the U.S. now accept 10 different cryptocurrencies as payment, and the rest will open in the first week of August.

“We added ApeCoin and Euro Coin because customers of our luxury merchant partners asked for it,” said BitPay CEO Stephen Pair. “They asked, so we did it.”

ApeCoin (APE) is the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection’s native ERC-20 coin. ApeCoin will be the main currency used in the Ape ecosystem, which will include a universe of Web3 games, experiences, and communities. APE users can use the BitPay Card to quickly turn ApeCoin into cash and buy gift cards for major brands and stores, in addition to making purchases with BitPay merchants. The BitPay app also lets people buy, store, and trade APE in real time.

Euro Coin (EUROC) is an ERC-20 stablecoin backed by the euro that was released by Circle. It works on the same full-reserve principle as USD Coin (USDC). It makes it easy to get euros quickly from one country to another, with low transaction costs and quick settlement. Businesses all over the world can accept Euro Coin payments from customers and pay their staff and suppliers with them. People can use the Euro Coin (EUROC) to buy things at hundreds of BitPay businesses, send euros to friends and family, and learn about DeFi and Web3.

In addition to ApeCoin (APE) and Euro Coin (EUROC), BitPay supports 13 other cryptocurrencies. These include Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin on the Lightning Network, Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Dogecoin (DOGE), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), XRP (XRP), and five stable coins that are tied to the USD: BUSD, DAI, GUSD, USDP,
