NFT Worlds Struggles as Minecraft Outlaws Emerge Web3 Tech

Mojang Studios has thrown a major wrench into the ambitious NFT Worlds project by basically banning any blockchain or NFT integration in their popular Minecraft game.

The Web3 team was upset because they had planned to make something inside the Minecraft infrastructure. This news was like a slap in the face, so they went to Mojang Studios to talk about it. Even so, the resilient world builder plans to keep working on its Web3 projects.

NFT Worlds has said, though, that it probably has two ways to move forward. Either they hire a development team to build their own platform based on one of the many Minecraft clones that have come out in the ten years since the game’s release, or they add their services to an existing GameFi platform, which was a plan they had made in case the first option didn’t work out.

In the statement, Mojang and, by extension, Microsoft effectively banned the use of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and the blockchain in all parts of the game, which is a bit hypocritical coming from a company that gave out NFTs when it launched Windows 11.

After the bad news, collectors rushed to sell their items, which led to a lot of buying and selling. As a result, as the number of transactions went up, the floor price went down.
