After the “auction” of PUNK #4156, one of the most famous and sought-after Punks on the market, this sale of a CryptoPunk for $10.2 million broke all previous records for the purchase of a non-fungible token. In December, it was zero.
The NFT, one of 24 “Ape” Punks, sold last night for an incredible 2,500 ETH.
The Twitter user “Punk1456” bought the CryptoPunk for 650 ETH ($1.25m) in February of this year. He then sold it for $9.8 million more than what he paid for it.
Late on Tuesday night, CryptoPunk #4464 was sold for 2,500 ETH, which is just over $2.6 million. Out of the 10,000 profile pictures, there are only 24 apes, and this Ethereum NFT has a vape pen, an eye mask, and a durag.
