The rarest whiskey in the world, Karuizawa, is available now as an NFT

BlockBar, the NFT marketplace specializing in luxury wines and spirits, offers unprecedented entry to the rarest whiskey in the world, Karuizawa. The bottle from the last 50-year-old cask, The last masterpiece of the 1970s, will be auctioned uniquely on BlockBar.

About the Karuizawa NFT release

BlockBar provides collectors the opportunity to have one of the recent bottles of the 1970 Karuizawa cask. Karuizawa ‘1970 Last Masterpiece’ NFT is attached to the real-life bottle, marking the Japanese distiller’s final farewell. Besides, the bottle itself is a collector’s item, as Japanese calligrapher Souun Takeda designed the brand.

Whiskey lovers can have a unique bottle by bidding at an auction on BlockBar. With a beginning bid of $75,000, the auction is bound to interest whiskey lovers from all over the world. The auction opens at 12:00 AM EST on Tuesday, July 12th and ends at 5:00 PM EST. On Monday July 18th interested people can submit a bid by sending a payment through ETH, credit card or wire transfer.

Since the company’s closure, the remaining whiskey from the Karuizawa distillery has been so preferred. The man behind the drop is Eric Huang, the industry professional who made Karuizawa what it is currently.

“The Karuizawa brand is highly exclusive, and we notice a lot of potential for releasing an NFT, that contains a guarantee of authenticity for the bottle owner,” said Eric Huang, CEO of Hua Yang International Ltd. “The main consideration for our collaboration with BlockBar is their expertise in luxury spirits and its strict control to ensure the authenticity and quality of the bottle in direct collaboration with a brand owner.”

BlockBar’s impact on the luxury wine and spirits sector

Established in October 2021, BlockBar is the world’s initial DTC NFT marketplace, joining collectors to luxury wine and spirits brands. By providing NFTs for exclusive products, BlockBar guarantees its customers that each collectible is one-of-a-kind and authentic.

Consumers can transact directly using BlockBar and be assured that their collectibles are well taken care of. After purchase, each physical BlockBar bottle is stored in a secure facility in Singapore. In addition, customers who are not yet familiar with Web 3 can purchase products with fiat currency, credit card or wire transfer.

Lately, BlockBar cooperated with Johnnie Walker to provide seven whiskey enthusiasts a rare whiskey along with a VIP experience. Besides, the NFT marketplace nominated for the LVMH Innovation Award at the LVMH Awards, cementing its position in the NFT sector.
