Tiger beer Malaysia releases an NFT series

Tiger Beer Malaysia is temporarily collaborating with the Malaysian street clothing company Pestle & Mortar Clothing (PMC) to release a series of NFTs to kick off in the Year of the Tiger.

The NFT series’ name is ‘The Tiger Archive’. It consists of 6688 exclusive hand-designed NFTs which went on sale on OpenSea and sold out in just ten minutes. The NFT series is part of Tiger Beer’s campaign “The Year of Your Tiger”, that concentrates on encouraging people to “achieve bold ambitions in 2022”.

Tiger Beer’s global brand manager, said that the Tiger spirit – “bold and courageous” – has always been essential to Tiger Beer, citing the company’s move to brew tropical beer despite much opposition.

Each NFT is inspired by the noble tiger, and depicts a variety of fun “Lucky Tigers” with various themes, poses and fringes. NFTs also allow holders access to proprietary goods and regulatory experiences.

Beer and alcoholic beverage companies are stepping into Web3

While the drop of NFT Tiger Beer and the collaboration with PMC is undoubtedly original, it is not the initial beer and alcoholic beverage company to enter the NFT space. Conversely, beer and alcoholic companies have entered Web3 all year round.

Here are some of the top beer and alcohol companies’ headlines in Web3 over the past few months:

• Heineken releases Virtual Beer in Decentraland’s Metaverse
• Goslings Rum Files Web3 Patents for the “Dark ‘n Stormy”
• Budweiser continues to enter Web3 with Zed Run Collaboration
• Whiskey brand Crown Royal cooperates for NFTs
• Dwyane Wade announced NFT series with Budweiser Zero
• Absolut Vodka introduces a Coachella–themed metaverse

As NFTs make it possible to buy and sell digital assets safely on the blockchain, the new tech opens the door for a variety of companies to test how they communicate with customers. Many beer and alcoholic beverage companies, as these headlines show, see Web3 and the metaverse as the next important thing – and are rapidly stepping into the space.

We will have to wait and see if Tiger Beer and PMC will continue to work together, but since the NFT drop sold out in a matter of seconds, we believe it is good to expect more from these companies in the NFT space in the next months and years.
