Yuga Labs has finally broken its silence over the fraud theory that claims the team entrenched alt-right and Nazi memes/imagery art piece behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).
the BAYC fraud theory was once again brought into the spotlight on June 20 after YouTuber Philion disclosed in a video investigating the clue that artist Ryder Ripps originally assembled early this year.
In a Twitter Medium post, Yuga Labs producer Gordon Goner announced that the committee eventually determined to clean the air after the hypothesis had earned so much fame that one of their special podcasters was speaking about it.
“We’ve not reacted in additional detail to these announcements because frankly, they are so far-fetched.”
“That announced, we woke up this morning to a podcaster we adore speaking around this fraud theory, and that was completely surreal. Caused us to think as it the moment to appear and finish all this,” he expanded.
particularly Ryder Ripps declared the BAYC NFT artwork captioned racist caricatures of Black and Asian nations, and the program’s logo and branding carry various proofs of certain Nazi symbology and language.
The artist furthermore made a BAYC secondary NFT collection named RR/BAYC as irony and objection against Yuga Labs.
While the team didn’t express all of the points defined against the BAYC, it polished denied the announcements that its logo arose from the Nazi Totenkopf (skull and crossbones) symbol.
It also repeated that utilizing Apes in the BAYC is proof to crypto degens and not a racist troll. Nonetheless, not everyone was thrilled with their reaction, as many questions went unexpressed.
