Launch Inc., a NYC media and entertainment company, says that W3BSTOCK is the first real life music event to be powered by blockchain technology, owned and controlled by NFT holders, and run by a Decentralized Autonomous Organization, or DAO.
Genesis NYC, the first W3BSTOCK event, will start on Monday, June 20, at the Blue Building in Manhattan. This is part of the fourth annual NFT.NYC conference. Rapper DAP The Contract, funk master DJ Logic, and well-known Web3 artists Dyl, Violetta Zironi, Nifty Sax, Josh Savage, and Moneyytree will all perform live at the party. In addition to an open bar and interactive NFT kiosks, the event will have a VIP NFT tastemaker exhibition with The Alien Boy NFT, MetaFans, Crypto Cannabis Club, CryptoBroskis, and more producers.
Brian Stollery, Ty Fleischut, Dylan Fleischut, and Darian Mongiovi, who started W3BSTOCK, wanted to fill this gap by making an innovative NFT project that community members could use for a long time. They did this by using blockchain and web3 technology to make it easier for an organization that puts on live music, entertainment, and events to grow and change.
Each of the first 500 NFTs gives two tickets and the right to vote to every event put on by the DAO. At W3BSTOCK and partner events, NFT ownership gives you free entry, discounts on merchandise, VIP and preferred accommodations, a direct vote on the programming choices, and other benefits.
The W3BSTOCK Discord server is the festival’s virtual command center. It is where new events, community discussions, and offers of useful services are posted.
Brian Stollery, founder of W3BSTOCK, CEO of Launch, and speaker at NFT.NYC, says, “As long as the NFT market is full of projects that don’t do much, there will never be wide use of this technology to make the world a better place.” W3BSTOCK is showing that NFTs can be used to promote culture and entertainment as a whole by bringing together great musicians and thought leaders from the new music NFT field inside a DAO.
After NFT.NYC, the project plans to launch a larger second mint, using treasury funds to activate W3BSTOCK events at Art Basel Miami and NFT | LA, host W3BSTOCK-produced events that bring live entertainment and education to schools, and create a multi-day music and arts camping festival in the summer of 2023. All of these events will be funded, curated, and driven by community-suggested ideas and offerings.
W3BSTOCK is the first music festival and entertainment production business of its kind to be owned by the community and to keep growing over time.
