Burberry releases NFTs for “Blankos Block Party”

The British fashion house Burberry will release its second NFT series for Mythical Games’ “Blankos Block Party” on June 22. Burberry’s recent NFTs will focus on a new unicorn avatar called “Minny B”.

As stated by Burberry, Mini B. is a “nice, gentle, and impudent character” which will highlight the brand’s TB Summer Monogram design. The Minny B. avatar has a spiral horn and a pair of wings, gamers can use to soar via “Blankos Block Party”.

In addition to Minny B., Burberry will eliminate NFT award-winning accessories at the Blankos Block Party. Some of the virtual items that customers can cut on June 22 are: Boom boxes, sandals, necklaces, and a “Shellphone” mobile accessories.

Burberry will reward anyone who still holds its initial Sharky B. avatar with an NFT airdrop. People with a Sharky B. NFT will enjoy a free, stylish NFT hat.

Burberry released 750 Sharky B. NFTs in 2021 for $299.99. Along with Sharky B., Burberry minted jetpacks, shoes, and armbands NFTs for “Blankos Block Party” gamers.

In addition to releasing new NFTs, Burberry aims to develop its presence in Mythical Games’ ecosystem. The fashion company revealed that it will open a virtual “cabana resort” named “The Oasis” where players will meet other avatars.

In a new interview, Burberry CEO Rachel Waller said her team was overwhelmed by the excitement they saw around their “Blankos Block Party” NFTs. Though Waller said critics argue that just “young male consumers” engage with Web3 avatars, he has found that “women” and people of “several ages” interacted with the game.

And Burberry is not the only clothing company which sees this new opportunity in the blockchain gaming sector. Numerous of the world’s top clothing brands currently have dedicated gaming sections.

Nike is the most clear example of this trend. First, Nike bought RTFKT Studio, the creator of Clone X in 2021. The American sportswear brand created a very successful metaverse experience in Roblox as well.

Mentioning Roblox, the Italian fashion house Gucci recently opened a “Gucci Town” metaverse experience. Like the temporary “Gucci Garden” area, “Gucci Town” gives Roblox players a place to play small games, take selfies, and purchase NFTs for their in-game avatars.

Paris-based Louis Vuitton also launched a video game called “Louis: The Game”. This new mobile game rewards NFT players as they learn more about brand history. Recent reports indicate that 2 million people have already downloaded “Louis: The Game”.
