Ajman police officers interact with Metaverse residents

Ajman: Instead of going to a police station, you may now interact with Ajman Police in the metaverse, which is a virtual representation of a real location where people’s avatars meet.

Members of the public and police officers may converse in the metaverse by wearing Virtual Reality (VR) headsets and connecting through smart phones, tablets, laptops, or desktop computers. It permits ‘visitors’ to pay authorities a visit in a metaverse meeting room.

According to the Ajman Police General Command, the metaverse effort is the first of its type in the UAE, and it is also the emirate of Ajman’s first digital government body.

“The project is part of Ajman Police’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with its customers and involve them in the design and development of services,” said Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed bin Abdullah Abu Shehab, head of the Services Development Team at Ajman’s Al Nuaimiya Comprehensive Police Station. Metaverse is consistent with the notion of permitting client interactions with police officers via virtual reality, which reduces the need for a human presence at the police station.”

High-technology services
He went on to note that the newly developed platform provides a unique customer experience via the virtual world, which mimics the real world, and ensures the delivery of services customized to future lifestyles, in line with the UAE government’s goal to provide high-tech services.

Lt Col Abu Shehab disclosed that a one-of-a-kind experiment for a virtual hall in the metaverse was established at the Al Nuaimiya Comprehensive Police Station’s Innovation Lab in collaboration with the Ajman Police’s innovation squad. It was based on the suggestion of the Future Readiness Team.
