Romania’s National Institute of Research and Development in Informatics (ICI Bucharest) aims to accelerate Web3 adoption in the country with the introduction of a proprietary nonfungible token trading platform.

The ICI D|Services institutional NFT platform, which aims to link consumers and institutions in the public and private sectors, will be released on April 26. The primary function of the platform is to serve as a market for NFTs, allowing both individual and institutional users to create, possess, and exchange NFTs.

At the debut of the platform, five distinct NFT collections created in collaboration with a few notable Romanian athletes, corporations, and institutions will be featured.
Among them are the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, the Central University Library in Bucharest, 18-year-old David Popovici, who holds the world record for 100-meter freestyle swimming, the Romanian news agency Agerpres, and Romfilatelia, a national philately organization.
According to Gheorghe, the Romanian government’s support of creative initiatives such as ICI D|Services enhances the country’s economic potential by generating new revenue streams, fostering economic expansion, and fostering an inventive and entrepreneurial culture.
