XSET, a major esports organization, has recently signed Bryan “Brycent” Johnson as their first Web3 gaming content creator. Brycent is a well-known gamer and content creator in the industry. Brycent has decided to continue his partnership with VaynerSports, which will serve as his talent management agency moving forward.
Brycent, a former software engineer, decided to pursue a career as a full-time Web3 gaming content creator. He has amassed a following of 295,000 across various social media platforms.
Brycent noticed, “I went on Twitch, went on YouTube, and realized no one was making content about Web3 gaming”
“It got to the point where I was making more money playing video games and creating content on this new era of gaming—Web3—than I was being a software engineer,” he explained.
As a content creator, I can report that Brycent received a direct message on Twitter from Gary Vee that read, “Keep crushing it,” after transitioning to full-time work in Web3 gaming.
Brycent thinks the creator of VeeFriends and VeeCon is an extremely productive and optimistic person.
XSET is doubling down on Web3 gaming and will be hosting weekly tournaments for Deadrop, a Web3 first-person shooter created by Dr. Disrespect. Brycent is excited to be a part of this initiative. The content creator mentioned that they prioritize gameplay over discussions around token prices or NFT speculation, taking a game-first approach to Web3.
Brycent stated that “The games that excite me the most are games that have social connectivity. I see game devs all the time tweeting, ‘This is the collectible. This is a digital asset that is going to be valuable to the ecosystem.’ It’s like, valuable to whose ecosystem?”
According to the content creator, the NBA stopped from releasing basketball cards during its initial year of launch due to the uncertainty surrounding the league’s value at the time.
Former FaZe Clan President Greg Selkoe founded XSET, which manages a variety of well-known content creators such as rapper Swae Lee, NASCAR driver Anthony Alfredo, and gaming creator Avori (who also appeared on “The Mole”). The XSET organization boasts a team of professional Apex Legends players for the popular battle royale game, in addition to a roster of gaming influencers who specialize in games such as Call of Duty: Warzone and iRacing.
Similar to 100 Thieves and TSM, XSET is venturing into the growing realm of Web3 gaming.
According to a statement by Selkoe, XSET was founded with the goal of revolutionizing the gaming industry and giving recognition to the voices and gamers who are leading the way in driving progress and creativity within the field.
Selkoe said that Brycent is highly committed to promoting the convergence of gaming and Web3. XSET is thrilled to welcome our newest addition, whose passion for educating and inspiring the gaming community is matched only by their authenticity and strong work ethic.
