Ever since the introduction of non-fungible tokens, NFT events have become the most sought-after tickets in town.
Over the course of the last year, Web3 has made its mark at a multitude of high-profile events, including Miami NFT week, VeeCon, Consensus, SXSW, NFT.NYC, NFT London, Art Basel Miami, NFT LA, and NFT.NYC once more, among many others. Despite primarily existing in the digital realm, this culture has been the subject of much discussion and has even prompted extensive travel.
The second edition of NFT.NYC is slated to commence on Wednesday, within a span of less than ten months. However, it appears that both collectors and builders are showing signs of exhaustion from the frequent events.
Even last month’s NFT LA (now renamed Outer Edge), which was well attended, did not feel the same as it did in 2022, according to community concerns expressed at recent NFT events.
This year, some of the largest NFT projects are deciding not to go to NFT.NYC. CyberKongz and Yuga Labs are two big names that don’t have their own events at The Big Apple. Both are working hard to bring new goods to their communities. Since both are usually at the big NFT events, one can wonder if the number of events is making them think about how important it is to be at them all.
Nonetheless, everyone anticipates a robust showcase of Web3-spanning project announcements.
Major brands such as Samsung x Artblocks, DeGods, Pudgy Penguins, Adidas, and Cyberbrokers demonstrate the current strength of Web3 brands, while Zancan, one of the world’s best-selling generative artists, demonstrates the pinnacle of generative art on the blockchain.
