Luxury fashion house Balmain drops limited NFT sneaker collection

The release consists of 130 limited-edition Unicorn sneakers accompanied by Space Runners-designed NFT counterparts.

Today, Balmain, a French luxury fashion house, released its most recent Web3 project: a limited seriesof NFT sneakers based on its Unicorn shoe line. Each pair of NFT sneakers comes with a limited-edition pair of matching real-world shoes.

Starting today, the Unicorn Phygital Wearable Collection consists of 130 Unicorn sneaker NFTs packaged with identical physical counterparts. Five distinct sneaker designs are introduced via the Unicorn bundles of the collection, each of which costs between $1595 and $2095 in fiat currency or ETH. The sale has begun.

The Ethereum NFTs for the collection were made in partnership with Space Runners, a digital fashion firm backed by investors like Pantera, Polychain, Jump Capital, and Animoca Brands’ Yat Siu.

Holders of Balmain Unicorn NFTs will get rare physical sneakers, early access to upcoming Balmain releases and other exclusive Balmain products, and more digital wearables that can be used in online games and metaverse platforms.

Over the past year, Balmain has worked hard to make partnerships, membership programs, and limited edition drops that use blockchain technology, as today’s drop shows.
