The developer of the popular Ethereum NFT collection unveils the latest installment of its Dookey Dash racing game.
Yuga Labs, the creator of the highly sought-after Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, recently launched HV-MTL, a new NFT collection of 30,000 “Evo 1” Mechs that can be acquired through a “summoning” process.
Owners of Sewer Pass NFTs can burn them in exchange for the Mechs, which are released by a “Power Source” and provide access to future games and content. On Wednesday, the floor price for HV-MTL NFTs reached 2.7 ETH, or approximately $4,445 each, on OpenSea, while on the secondary market, they surpassed 2,588 ETH, or around $4.3 million.
Yuga Labs also concluded its browser-based “endless runner” game, Dookey Dash, which required players to navigate through a virtual sewer system while collecting items and avoiding obstacles.
The inaugural race was won by esports star Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson, with fuel for the race being exclusive digital collectibles called Sewer Passes, available only to Bored Ape Yacht Club members. These Sewer Passes will now become robotic companions for the apes of their owners.
However, the HV-MTL NFT collection was not without issues, with some collectors complaining about metadata issues and the absence of “companion” traits. Yuga Labs stated that they were conducting an investigation and that “the trait has been removed from the collection for now, and we will push a metadata update when this is resolved.” The problem was resolved after more than four hours.
While excitement surrounding the latest Bored Ape-related NFT drop is high, caution is required to avoid scammers posing as the Bored Ape Yacht Club who distributed malicious website links to trap potential collectors.
Yuga Labs has been associated with the Ethereum ecosystem and NFTs for a long time, but the company entered the Bitcoin ecosystem last month with the launch of Twelvesfold, a collection of 300 generative art pieces that raised over $16 million.
