NFT technologies reveal multi-year deal with World Table Tennis

World In a unique multi-year agreement, Singapore-based World Table Tennis (WTT) has cooperated with NFT Tech. The collaboration includes an end-to-end Web 3 strategy that includes fan engagement with digital collectibles, metaverse experiences, play-to-earn, and move-to-earn gaming. WTT announced 519 million global fans while hosting more than 50 global events annually and interests hundreds of millions of exclusive viewers.

“I’m very excited about what we can show the world,” stated Adam De Cata, CEO at NFT Tech. “Table tennis is growing in popularity and global participation, and WTT has been very forward-thinking and pioneering in leading innovations in sports technology. We can create exciting multi-faceted experiences which increase fan and player engagement, involving play-to-earn, that is a multi-billion dollar opportunity space in itself.”

“WTT has been currently researching and planning its access into the Web 3 space for more than 15 months, studying and analyzing ways in which we can be more interactive through Web3”, said Michael Brown, WTT’s CFO. “The collaboration with NFT Tech is the initial important step on this journey. NFT technology has proven to be a leader within technology innovation in sports, that we think is essential to growth of our sport. We think that offering a Web 3 strategy will resonate with our important fans and their interests, as attracting new fans to participate in the world of table tennis”.

Besides dominating the field of table tennis, Asia leads the way in crypto adoption and technology innovation as well. In 2021, Metamask, a cryptocurrency wallet leader, announced more than 10 million monthly active users and said that Asia was leading the growth of wallet adoption. Apart from Asia’s dominant position in the cryptocurrency adoption space, there is still a lot of potential for growth, with just 3.6% and 10% of the population owning crypto in Southeast Asia and Singapore.

“This multi-year collaboration is a normal continuation of NFT Tech’s momentum established at the Australian Open,” added Adam. “With fifty events per year (as opposed to just one), World Table Tennis offers a lot of potential – not only with new projects or ideas, but with a business model which uses resale royalties as well. With countless tournaments and events, we can use more tools to own specific NFTs, which will be of great benefit to fans, but also great opportunities for NFT Tech”.
