WISeKey Original Picasso WISeKey International Holdings Ltd. lately revealed that its WISe.ART 2.1 NFT marketplace will create an NFT token for a main cubist painting by Pablo Picasso named “The Magic Violin”. The NFT will include a physical package containing the original artwork, a holographic version of the NFT, and a live broadcast of the NFT in two different museums at the same time.
Picasso’s “Magic Violin” is a collage made from newspaper clippings, colored paper, and music scores. The NFT and art design were done by Pedro Sandoval, who, in his short film, tells the story of the theft of two violins from the renowned French painter Henri Rousseau. Picasso, who highly praised this artist, replaced the violins with an image of a violin and put them inside the empty case. The case with the cut-out violin currently owned by a Spanish collector, the grandson of Marco Salvadores Ruiz, who purchased it at auction.
This artwork was exhibited in the below places:
• In 2020 at the Museum of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, established by Queen Maria Cristina in 1830.
• In 2021 at the San Clemente Cultural Center in Toledo
• In 2022 in the city of San Clemente in Cuenca by the Antonio Perez Foundation

The world of traditional art is preparing for NFTs
In 2021, the massive sale of NFTs made waves throughout the art world. Plenty found it inconceivable that digital art could command price tags as the $69.3 million (the price for Beeple’s Everydays: The Initial 5,000 Days) or the $11.7 million paid for a rare CryptoPunk at Sotheby’s auction house in June of that year.
But since the first shock, some traditional art museums and collectors have embraced NFTs, using the fledgling technology to get new, younger, audiences.
Previously in the year, it was announced that four Italian art museums, involving the Uffizi Galleries in Florence, had signed onto a project to sell more NFTs of expensive artworks . The first project named “Eternalizing Art History” and it had six copies of renowned Italian masterpieces by artists such as Raphael and Leonardo da Vinci.
Also, a few months ago, The Vatican announced Web3 news that it was partnering with Sensorium, a Metaverse company, to bring some of its artwork to Web3. This project will enable people around the world to view The Vatican’s precious series.
Time will show how WISe.art combination of the real work of Pablo Picasso with NFT will affect the art world, but it’s becoming increasingly obvious that NFTs and traditional art can act together.
