Future play-to-earn blockchain game Battle Derby has closed a funding about £1.8 M before the release of its BDG token, which is aimed for Q1 2023.
The funding round involved contributions from different prominent names in the cryptocurrency space like Chromia, Grow Your Base Inc., AlphaCoin Fund, Crypt2Gem, 98KDAO, and WillyRex.
Battle Derby is a mobile-based multiplayer battle royale game from Triple O Studio, that will run on the Chromia Network. This project is an exception to the rule in the crypto space, as most of the game is now created. The development of the game platform will concentrate on perfecting the game’s technonomics and simplifying the integration of blockchain with the game to offer a stylish and intuitive experience for end users.
Triple O Games (the studio behind Battle Derby) was established with the vision of providing blockchain games with sustainable P2E tokenomics via an creative model they call “Proof of Skill”.
Triple O Games CEO, Isidro Quintana noted:
“Proof of skill is not a consensus mechanism, but an incentive structure which conducts a game’s reward and management system. This structure aims to give more power to the actual players of the game, as opposed to whoever has the most money and can thus control the most tokens.”
The company, famous for its successful distance learning culture (Triple O being an anagram for “Out Of Office”) is located in Spain’s Canary Islands and has got funding from local authorities as well. Triple O Games got a collaboration loan via SODECAN and the FCF1, co-funded by FEDER (Canary Islands ERDF Operational Program 2014-2020), and consolidated public support for the company’s research and development activities.
Details of the public token sale, TGE, and mainnet release will be revealed later in the current year.
