Cryptocurrency people have gone from thinking that ETH would be bigger than BTC by 2030 to strongly opposing the idea. Twitter users had different ideas about whether or not ETH should be the best cryptocurrency.
The fact that Ethereum (ETH) is down more than 40 percent compared to Bitcoin (BTC) may worry ETH traders, but members of the crypto community on Twitter talked about the possibility of the smart contract platform one day being worth more than Bitcoin.
Jesus Crypto says that there is a chance that ETH will be more valuable than BTC in 2030. Even though the Twitter user thinks it would be hard, the upcoming switch to proof-of-stake (PoS) could help ETH take the crown in 10 years.
Twitter user WakeNBakeTrades called Bitcoin a “dinosaur” and said that Polygon’s (MATIC) scalability could help Ethereum beat Bitcoin. On Twitter, they wrote:
Rahul Singh, on the other hand, said that this would never happen because BTC is digital gold and ETH is the internet’s second generation. Singh said that the value of digital assets and that of digital software are different in a number of ways. CyberKingK, who uses Twitter, agreed with the idea and wrote, “There’s enough room for both.” Bob Shiby also had something to say about the matter. He said, “There’s room for both.” Since Ethereum’s uptime is important for a lot of tokens, the Twitter user said that they would wait for more Bitcoin news before making a final decision.
In early July, a researcher in decentralized finance (DeFi) said that the move to PoS consensus through the upcoming Merge would create an economic structure that would allow ETH to pass BTC. The researcher says that with the change, ETH inflation will go down, security will go up, and the asset will become more like a digital bond.
