On June 28, the NFT platform HyperMint and the NFT art curator NFTGrails announced that they would work together to make Alec Monopoly’s NFT collection Rags to Richie.
The NFT collection will be made with the help of HyperMint, a new self-service platform from MoonPay.
As one of its first goals, the Rags to Riches collection has a street-art play-to-earn NFT game, a Metaverse club and Digital Art Gallery, exclusive in-person events, and more than $1 million in prizes and giveaways for holders.
The collection is based on a new character that Monopoly made. This new character combines some of Monopoly’s most famous themes with 10,000 unique NFTs that Monopoly made himself.
Monopoly has also worked with JOYSTICK to create an immersive SandBox Club and Metaverse Art Gallery to show off Alec’s Rags to Richie artwork. After the collection comes out, there will be a big party at the Rags to Richie venue in Sandbox, where Monopoly will do a live DJ set.
Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO of MoonPay, says that the partnership between HyperMint and Alec Monopoly is a blueprint for the next phase of NFTs. He also says that the artist’s development of the Rags to Richie collection is a seamless blend of art and utility, giving people a new way to create, explore, and play with art.
