Binance tries to get federal law enforcement trained on Bitcoin

Binance is promoting training for the Federal Police (PF) in Brasilia. This is the first time a platform of this kind has done something like this. The people who work in public security in Brazil have been trying to learn more about this field.

For example, in the past few months, the PF has joined forces with other government agencies from around the world to fight crime.

In May 2022, for example, the FBI and CIA taught federal police officers in Brazil about bitcoin.

In January of the same year, a few agents went to El Salvador to find out more about the situation. El Salvador was the first country in the world to make bitcoin legal.

Next week in Brasilia, the research department of the largest brokerage in the world will hold a session on blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

The federal police and other invited officials have come to Binance to learn more about bitcoin and how it is used in business.

The training will last three days and cover things like blockchain and cryptocurrency ideas, as well as the anti-money laundering (AML) standards of the Binance exchange.

Also shown are the procedures and tools that the company has made with the help of authorities to fight cybercrime and financial crime.

In a recent chat with Livecoins, Vytautas Zumas, deputy of the Civil Police of Goiás, talked about how important it is for public investigators to have tools that help them do their jobs better.

Matt Price, who used to be a special agent for cybercrime investigations at the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS), will be one of the people in charge of the bitcoin presentations that Binance will give.

The head of intelligence and research for the company in Asia-Pacific, Jarek Jakubcek, will also be in Brazil. Renato Barreto, who works for Binance as a Latin America Investigations Specialist, is also taking part in the training.

All of these experts are known as cybercrime experts around the world, and the PF will be able to ask them questions and get their advice.

The Ministry of Justice and Public Security wants to put more effort into teaching people about cryptocurrencies.

Gabriel Andreuccetti, who runs the Center of Excellence for Reducing the Supply of Illegal Drugs (CdE/MJSP), went to Brasilia on Wednesday for the 24th National Drug Policy Week (22).

At the time, a member of the Department of Justice and Public Security said that the investment is meant to teach agents about cryptocurrencies and how to stop drug trafficking.

” The Ministry has invested in training security officers for this new reality and in the intelligence structure. We realize that international trends eventually migrate and that drug trafficking is quite dynamic.”

This shows that cryptocurrencies are a big deal for public safety in Brazil, even though a recent study found that crime related to these digital currencies is almost nonexistent.
