WeChat is the most popular social media platform in China. It recently changed its rules to make it illegal to create accounts that give access to services related to cryptocurrencies or non-fiat currencies (NFTs).
According to the new rules, accounts that are used to issue, trade, or finance cryptocurrencies and NFTs will be limited or shut down. These accounts will be called “illegal businesses.”
