Fox is investing $100M in NFT shows

Fox executives say they will invest $100 million in a new set of NFT-based experimental TV shows. To begin this new episode, Fox brought in “Rick and Morty” co-creator Dan Harmon to create an NFT show named “Krapopolis”.

Fox’s New blockchain Creative Laboratories (BCL) will partner with Bento Box Entertainment to develop these new NFT TV shows. BCL is responsible for Fox’s WWE “Moonsault” MFT market.

In a latest interview with CoinDesk, Fox stated that it would use $100 million to create a strong “creative community” and promote a healthy “brand ecosystem.” The media giant referred to the use of this budget for the “benefits” of future NFT communities as well.

As Rarity Sniper reported before, “Krapopolis” will be a comedy animation set in Ancient Greece. As mentioned in previous reports, viewers could cooperate on “character development” and enjoy unique benefits by buying an NFT.

New details indicate that Fox Entertainment will release its “Krapopolis” NFTs on the ETH blockchain. “Krapopolis” is set to release in the fall of 2022, but Fox says it will release more details about its NFT plans soon.

Due to Dan Harmon’s popularity and access to Fox Entertainment, “Krapopolis” is one of the biggest experiments in “NFT storytelling”. Moreover, numerous renowned celebrities have already started discovering the possibilities of incorporating Web3 into TV shows.

For instance, actress Mila Kunis is working on an animated comedy named “The Gimmicks” which allows fans to comment on the show’s direction. Anyone with “Gimmick” NFT can participate in the development of any part plan.

The “Gimmicks” also allows NFT holders to create fictional stories related to their NFT avatars. If the producers of the show like what they read, viewers may see their NFT in the next episode.

Recently, actor Rob McElhaney released an exclusive Web 3 writers’ community named “Adimverse”. . Anyone with NFT for “Adimverse” can cooperate on new innovative projects and enjoy a percentage of the royalty rights.

Appealingly, lots of blue-chip NFTs are steadily making their way into popular movies and TV shows as well. For example, Coinbace will release short films based on the Bored Ape Yacht Club at NFT.NYC. Actress Reese Witherspoon says she is working on a collection based on the NFT Women’s World series too.

Some PFP NFT series’ even have official media partners in Hollywood. For example, Madonna’s director Guy Oseary currently runs the World of Women and Bored Ape Yacht Club series’. The Doodles have signed Billboard’s Julian Holguin, and the Cool Cats are cooperating with the CAA.

Web 3 and NFTs are sure to change the minds of many directors, filmmakers, and producers about storytelling.
