NFT Classics Society announces Stradivarius violin NFTs

The NFT Classic Association brings Antonio Stradivari’s legendary violins to Web3. On June 20, the band will release a series of NFTs which pays tribute to Stradivari’s 168” Cobbett” violin with audio files and 3D images.

As stated in the latest reports, the “Cobbett” NFT series will contain three rarity rankings: Maestro, Virtuoso, and Prodigy. Of these three, the Maestro NFT will be the rarest and just available at auction. Other fixed-price NFTs will drop on the NFT market OpenSea.

The NFT Classic Association states that it used “artificial intelligence sound models” and three-dimensional “digital images” to appreciate the “Cobbett” violin in its Maestro NFT. Anyone with this digital collectible will see high-resolution images of the “Cobbett” violin and hear Bach’s “Chaconne” playing in the background.

Those who buy a Virtuoso NFT will get one of 31 images designed by the artists Sho Jang and Sangeun Won. These artistic NFTs will pay tribute to the “Cobbett” violin as well.

Anyone in New York during the NYC.NFT festival can see these NFTs in person on June 20. The NFT Classic Community will share more information about the “Cobbett” NFT series on its Twitter and Discord channels too.

Musical Instrument enter the metaverse

Most of the “NFT music” news is about singers and songwriters who release virtual memorabilia, tickets, or albums. Nevertheless, some companies have begun experimenting with bringing iconic instruments into Web3.

Amazingly, a Web3 project named Mattereum Protocol purchased a Stradivarius violin to give investors the opportunity to own a share of this $9 million instrument. Instead of selling NFT collectibles, Mattereum allows people to purchase partial ownership of its Stradivarius using blockchain-based tokens.

Apart from classical violins, classical guitar brands have shown an interest in bringing their instruments to Web3. The previous month, Rarity Sniper explored Fender submitted NFT-related patents to the USPTO. Gibson Brands has different patents pending NFT for its iconic guitar models.

As Fender and Gibson prepare to launch an NFT, Japan’s ESP has already minted some of its guitar NFTs. In 2021, ESP released an NFT series named “Pyrograph”, that included digital versions of guitar models designed by Duno Muradian.

Some artists have even started auctioning stylized instrument-themed NFTs. For instance, the musician Matt Bellamy released an NFT of a Fender Telecaster in 2021. The guitar raised $26,000 for homeless shelters in the UK.
