BAYC’s co-founder warns of an attack using Twitter insiders

Gordon Goner, who helped start Yuga Labs and the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), warns users that an attack might happen. After getting good information about what happened, he sent out a Twitter alert to let his followers know.

He also said that he knew that the hacking group’s social media operation would be carried out with the help of a Twitter insider.

Should people in the BAYC area get ready for another one?

Yuga Labs, the company behind some of the most popular nonfungible tokens (NFTs), like the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Otherside, worked hard to protect Twitter. Then, it turns out that someone who works for Twitter is planning an attack on its social media accounts.

“We’ve been in contact with Twitter and they confirmed that they have an active monitor on the accounts and security has been escalated. We’re feeling more secure, but please stay safe everyone. And remember there will be no surprise mints.”

The Twitter staff took the tip seriously and started keeping an eye on what was going on with accounts to keep them safe. Gorner told the BAYC community many times that there won’t be any surprises. Fraudsters often use fake news about mint and phishing links in the fake news to steal money from consumers.

As Yuga Labs NFTs and Otherside become more popular, con artists and hackers are looking for ways to make money off of them. For the same reason, BAYC has been attacked a lot in recent months. Attackers hid behind the Otherside’s Discord group to steal more than 145 ETH.

Fraudsters have used this method a lot in the past. The warning may serve as a reminder to the community to stay alert, and the attackers may decide not to go through with their plans.
