Budweiser steps into Zed Run’s NFT games with beer, gambling, and crypto

The two will release a Budweiser-themed race track, Budweiser NFT passes, racing prize pools beginning at $45,000, and three kinds of released Clydesdale NFT skins which can be used in Zed Run.

Well-known beer maker Budweiser has partnered with Zed Run to use tokenized Clydesdale draft horses in its virtual NFT-based horse racing and betting game.

Budweiser’s recent move adds to the $120,000 it spent on NFT fan art and beer.eth domain name it bought through the ETH Name Service in August 2021.

Zed Run was established by Sydney-based Virtually Human Studio in early 2019, and its racing NFT horse NFT initially cost about $30 to $80 to mint, but have since become popular assets that trade for thousands of dollars on secondary markets. In April 2021, a user sold racehorse for $125,000.

As part of the Zed Run deal, the two companies will release a Budweiser-themed race track, Budweiser NFT licenses, prize pools for Bud-assisted virtual horse races starting at $45,000, and three kinds of released Clydesdale NFT skins which can be used in Zed Run.

The Budweiser Clydesdales are a renowned group of horses used for company advertising and promotions, with the beer producer are a main sponsor of horse racing events around the world.

There will be a total of 2500 Budweiser Pass NFT, which will be available for sale for one day (to users aged 21 years and older) from Friday. The NFTs will cost $225 a pop, besides gas fees.

Zed Run will host two Budweiser races in July and September, both of which will have $45,000 pool prizes. In addition, there will be a $95,000 tournament in December, which offers an opportunity to win a one-year supply Budweiser beer.

Hodler’s of the NFTs will launch Cyldesdale skin NFTs in July which can be used to enhance current racehorse NFTs from the game, as well as receiving Budweiser T-shirts which can be worn by avatars in the Decentraland metaverse, where Zed Run’s, virtual headquarters are settled.
