“SunShower,” which is the name of Jim Carrey’s first non-fiction work, will only be shown on the SuperRare marketplace. As a multifaceted artist, Jim’s works have given his fans a look into his thoughts, but more importantly, into his soul. Sunshower started out as a painting, but now it’s an animated NFT with Jim Carrey’s voice and an encouraging message.

SunShowers at Auction
Tomorrow, June 9, at 12 p.m. PT/3 p.m. ET, the auction will start with a 24-hour countdown and a starting price of $1. After the sale, a portion of the money will be given to the charity organization Feeding America. As Jim Carrey’s first NFT artwork, the sculpture was made with the help of director David Bushell.
Carrey and NFTs
Jim says that SunShower was made from empty acrylic paint bottles. The background colors were then “poured,” and the canvas was “scraped” so that each color only left a “impression.” Jim went on to say that this way of doing things was a fun way to work with chance. As well as “a long climb up to a dangerous cliff drop,”
Carrey’s drawing and painting skills grew every day while he worked in traditional fine-art media. But when Jim joined Twitter, he began to digitize and animate his paintings to make them better fit the medium.
“I had merely begun to experiment with bringing my art to life through simple animations when the NFT world opened up. To me, there could never be enough new places to create.”
