Unstoppable Domains, a provider of NFT domain names, has announced the launch of Profile Badges, which are validated by on-chain activity. The Profile Badges allow users to build their digital identities by showing the NFTs that they hold on their Web3 domain.
Profile Badges’ first release contains “Early Adopter” badges for people who transacted on the Ethereum mainnet before 2017, as well as badges for NFT collectors who own CryptoPunks, CryptoKitties, Lazy Lions, Doodles, World of Women, Crypto Chicks, Deadheads, and Alpha Girl Club tokens.
“With Profile Badges, wallet transactions become Web3 achievements and bring your on-chain transactions to life,” stated Lisa Seacat DeLuca, Unstoppable Domains’ Director of Product Management and Engineering. “In the future, Profile Badges will emerge to represent the whole crypto community.” Today, you may show the projects you’aped into initially, and we expect that in the future, Web3 profiles can showcase on-chain activities and successes in our social and professional lives.”
Unstoppable’s Profile Badges provide users with more ways to exhibit their community connections and achievements as social signals migrate from physical to digital in the Web3 era. All existing Unstoppable Domains users may now select whether or not to display Badges on their profile, as well as which badges to make public or private.
Users may apply badges for free by syncing their Web3 wallet and selecting a badge. There is also a badge for individuals who used Rarible to create their first NFT.
“Rarible is excited to collaborate with Unstoppable Domains to create our own Profile Badge and enable our marketplace users to celebrate their ownership of NFTs minted on Rarible,” stated Adam Ilenich, Rarible’s Head of Community. “We are happy to provide our users with a unique new means to respect their digital identity and involvement in the Rarible community via this agreement.”
Access Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) have also teamed up with Unstoppable Domains to provide free Web3 domains to all women in the UAE capital.
The giveaway’s goal is to provide more women the chance to learn about and potentially participate in Web3.
“Abu Dhabi is ensuring that the future of Web3 is built on a solid foundation that appeals to all members of the community.” Eng. Abdulla Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Interim Director-General of ADIO, said that through sponsoring initiatives that embrace and empower women, diversity may be championed early in the Web3 era.
