This week, the luxury fashion brand Prada will release its own ETH NFT series. The first drop consists of 100 digital items due to release on Thursday. Collectors have to purchase physical goods from Prada’s new cooperation with artist Cassius Hirst to receive an NFT for free.
How can you mint a Prada NFT?
On Thursday, Prada officially joins the NFT market with its exclusive series. In deed, the luxury fashion brand will launch 100 NFTs with its new Timecapsule. This limited Prada series shows physical button-down shirts created in partnership with Cassius Hirst.
Therefore, a collector who buy a Timecapsule outfit will get an NFT for free. Amazingly, each digital item will contain a number linked to its matching physical shirt.
Prada used the Aura Blockchain consortium for the new drop. This non-profit platform provides blockchain solutions in addition to ConsenSys Rollups for other companies. It was made by Prada, LVMH and Cartier.
The new NFTs look
The Prada NFTs are GIFs of black or white capsules regarding the design. Certainly, every digital capsule has the iconic Prada logo. It is a minimalist design which reflects the luxury fashion style of this brand. The brand used the alike colors to design the physical shirts.
This could mean that if you purchase a black shirt, you will receive a black Prada capsule NFT. In addition, the physical clothes have red details – just like GIF artwork.
With the growth of the NFT market in 2021, also fashion giants decided to join this trend. Actually, Prada saw the opportunity months ago when it collaborated with Adidas for an NFT drop. The series was created in partnership with artist Zack Lieberman.

Currently, the iconic brand is preparing to drop its DGFamily NFT series. Therefore, the digital assets will present jewelry boxes that conceal exclusive benefits for their holders.
Overall, Prada’s future drop will expand the luxury fashion NFT space. Though the brand releases collectibles for free, they will probably become more valuable over time. The 100 collectibles will release on Thursday for all purchasers of the Prada x Cassius Hirst physical shirts series.
